I don't know, I am really stuck. I spent 10 hours doing full format and it's just 1% completed; what the heck! As I searched, people said that it's more than a couple day. I think it could be and it could be up to 3 or 4 days. However, you can do quick format if you don't want to spend much time with it.
Then, a question comes up! What is the difference between full format/normal format and quick format?
The answer is:
"When you choose to run a regular format on a volume, files are removed from the volume that you are formatting and the hard disk is scanned for bad sectors. The scan for bad sectors is responsible for the majority of the time that it takes to format a volume.
If you choose the Quick format option, format removes files from the partition, but does not scan the disk for bad sectors. Only use this option if your hard disk has been previously formatted and you are sure that your hard disk is not damaged."
I got it from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302686.
In my personal front, I recommand not to use 1TB as one drive; it could be more trouble. For example, if you defragment the drive (1000GB storage) or do defragmentation in the drive, you need to spand more than 5 days or a week (if it is full of files). Not only this, but it also spend much time to do error-checking.
If you don't want that, you should divide this 1TB to many drive as you want. For me I made 4 drives with capacity 600GB for movies, music, etc.; 200GB for ebook, tutorial, education, etc.;, 100GB for my studio, and project; and 31.5GB for temporary and uncategory files.
Oh! You might wonder where is another 78.5GB. The capacity of 1TB is 1000GB and only 931.5GB is available for usage.
